"The vehicle was going about five to 10 miles per hour" Just can't have any fun with the grandparents any longer. Party poopers. I had a buddy in highschool who was a holy terror. His house was off a cul-de-sac, and it peeved him to no end when the little kids in the local houses left their big wheels in the street. So, one day, in a fit of inspiration, he tied a rope to one, the other end to his dirt bike, and he and another friend had a BLAST drifting around the neighborhood..... until they drifted past the patrol car.... the officer had to seriously suppress any laughter... just the look of him drifting by the patrol car with "that look" on his face. Back then the police would cut you some slack if all you were doing was having a little fun... He suggested they stop doing what they were doing before they ended up under a car or something... I am NOT equating this to drunk grandparents.
Charlie Gilley You're going to tell me what I want to know, or I'm going to beat you to death in your own house. "Where liberty dwells, there is my country." B. Franklin, 1783 “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” BF, 1759
upside down car hood + long ropes + fast horse + snow on the streets = tons of fun and the cops didn't even bother to stop and talk to us. try that crap nowadays though..
Common sense is not a gift it's a curse. Those of us who have it have to deal with those that don't.... Be careful which toes you step on today, they might be connected to the foot that kicks your butt tomorrow. You can't scare me, I have children.

Amen my friend. I read about some town up north that wanted to outlaw sledding... too dangerous. I firmly believe that children need to learn their limitations. They might get hurt, but then again, it teaches them things - within reason of course. Speaking of which, I went for a walk with my grandson... nice day, sunny about 75. He was in shorts, in a stroller and I made sure to keep the sun shade over him. Daughter in law (mom) blew a fuse... sigh...

Had a golf cart growing up which we had removed the speed limiter, we could get it up to about 20mph. My brother and I would tie a sled to the back and take turns seeing how long we could stay on. It was an absolute blast! Some of my favorite memories growing up, and I still have some scars from it as well.

Ahem, Atlanta is known for it's very nice weather. We rarely have tornadoes, and if it's a normal season, we're only a few days over 90. Then we settle in for a wonderful Autumn. Maybe 5 days of bad weather in the winter. The yanks up north have figured this out. :)
