I notice the occasional thread appear talking about interviews and how to conduct them, but I haven't seen a lot of discussion on the steps before there. CP used to have a jobs board, but I can't find it any more. Where do you all advertise for work these days? There are so many different places to choose from. - Phil

Unfortunately my company uses recruiters. Personally, I would use linkedin, especially industry specific groups for both looking for a job to fill or looking to fill a job.

http://careers.stackoverflow.com/[^] might be a good place to start.

        Cheers, Karthik

I second wizardzz on using LinkedIn. I get lots of recruiters attention from there. Most are for recruiting firms but not all. You will deffinately get your name out there though (assumming you can build a decent network).

Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.

Have you had much success from there? They are very affordable, but the number of Vancouver advertisements seems a bit low. The candidate search was the most interesting though, have you used it, and did it work out for you?

My company is experimenting with using LinkedIn, I'm not sure how successful it's being though.
