The Rise of the the "Brogrammer" I don't know, is this just another media hype job for generating traffic? Seems to me that the author may have difficulties distinguishing an Aaron Sorkin script from reality.

          From Article:

...computer programmer who lives for the thrill of finding a single misplaced semicolon in thousands of lines of code.

Sounds like most of the anal retentive people I know or work with. There nothing "cool" about being one of those. Brogrammers… eh… call them what you may, a nerd is a nerd and a geek is a geek however well paid they may be. Giving yourself a cool handle doesn’t change that. There aren’t rock ballads about how the stupid semicolon was found, no rap songs about a successful SQL search, and no death metal band screaming about succumbing to the evil JavaScript incantations, no Justin Beeper singing about the “Beautiful Code”. It just ‘ain’t there…

It was broke, so I fixed it.

Term invented by insecure developers too immature to give up their frat boy ways. It's also an attempt to make engineering a status job like doctor or lawyer. Most who embrace the term probably don't even develop (BA, PM, sales).

I have never seen a brogrammer. I have seen lots of Type-A's that pretend to know how to code but no brogrammers. For every brogrammer I assume there is a real programmer behind the scenes being bullied to do all the work.

Need custom software developed? I do custom programming based primarily on MS tools with an emphasis on C# development and consulting. I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

Well, I don't know about her taste in music, she likes my band. :-O I don't don't begrudge her J.B. He's far better than some of the other garbage I've heard. His music just isn't my style. :)

I am very grateful for not knowing this garbage you mentioned ...

I'm brazilian and english (well, human languages in general) aren't my best skill, so, sorry by my english. (if you want we can speak in C# or VB.Net =p)
