What Pete said is correct, also it's often used to indicate a summarized version of something like so: [wall of text] tl;dr [summary of wall of text] It's fairly common internet slang, but I haven't seen it used on this site now that I think about it. The division of online communities is interesting.

I've been quite a few times, the wife is a Museum specialist, but before that she was an archaeologist and actually dug there. She knows it very well, and is a legend with the Bedouin there, as she was stung by a scorpion while digging. Petra is really something, the bit you see in Indiana Jones is really just the entrance you go round the corner and the whole place opens up. The Treasury (the classic building) is pretty much the most spectacular. The Monastery is almost as good, but has an incredible impressive view down Wadi Araba. We're probably going there and Wadi Rum on a short trip instead. If I'm feeling up to it we'll make the trip up Jebel Haroun, where Aaron is supposed to be buried. There are a lot of Archaeological sites in Jordan, the missus is helping to organise this[^], most of the photos are mine (though the site isn't).

I am truly jealous, you bastard! ;P All kidding aside, I'm glad you took this opportunity. I bet you got to seem some real interesting stuff that the general public doesn't get to see since your wife is so well connected to the sites. I hope to make it there in the next 2 years.

Years ago, I worked with a chap who was more than a pi$$head when it came to drinking; a full-on apprentice alcoholic. Because he drank so much he was given the nickname, Beirut, as he used to get "bombed" every night. As for He) above. That used to be the case when the entire world was run by Britain. First the Yanks rebelled and look where it got them.

"I do not have to forgive my enemies, I have had them all shot." — Ramón Maria Narváez (1800-68).
