Stupid Customers

I'm in the real world (I think) - partner in a company and we sell software we develop ourselves. When it comes to customers I've met stupidity in spades (English expression). Does anyone have 'Stupid Customer' stories? ;P Old Simon HB9DRV

Well, there was the woman who decided to subscribe to our ISP for email and internet access. For some reason good fortune was not smiling on me that day and I was asked to go with the new guy and help set her up. After about half an hour of showing her step by step how to work everything she turned to us and asked "Must I plug the machine in at the wall before clicking on Send/Recieve" :wtf: It was something like my second last day of work there before moving on to bigger and better things. I'm so pleased I wasn't the new guy!
A pack of geeks, pale and skinny, feeling a bit pumped and macho after a morning of strenuous mouse clicking and dragging, arriving en masse at the gym. They carefully reset the machines to the lowest settings, offer to spot for each other on the 5 lb dumbells, and rediscover the art of macrame while attempting to jump rope. -Roger Wright on my colleagues and I going to gym each day at lunch

My friend was tech support for an ISP and spent an hour on the phone with a woman before asking the most obvious question of all and establishing she did not have a modem. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002

It'd probably be fairly easy to make a bot that'd post random stupid VB questions, and nobody would probably ever notice - benjymous - 21-Jan-2003 -

Check out The Chronicles of George[^], a site written by a helpdesk guy that lists dozens of help requests from a clueless employee. --Mike-- Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. 1ClickPicGrabber - Grab & organize pictures from your favorite web pages, with 1 click! Several. The guy who polled a device into a text file, ran reports on a database, then imported the text file into the database, wondering why nothing came out in the report. The guy who could not dial-up our server. Went over and watched as he dialed his telephone, waited for the ring, hung up, and walked down the hall to the PC and waited.:omg: The lady who stuck a wrapped 3 1/2 inch floppy in the drive. The lady with the "tilted" monitor who needed help?
