"Present iam in Office and Dont have Google Access that why i posted this question." Can this be true? Is there any company that expects developers (or indeed almost any profession) to be able to do their job effectively in the modern world without access to Google, but with internet access? Even doctors use Google to find diseases from the symptoms! OK, I can understand FarceBook and FleaBay being on the ban list, but Google? Would you work for such a company?

A thought just came to me, very rare, but it did. Does Microsoft let its employees use Google or are they only allowed to use BlingDing?

I'd b surprised if MS gives a rats, however there is bound to be some micro brain in a backroom somewhere tracking Google users for them. And there will be some fanatical wanker wandering around the office exhorting the joys of using the MS product! Is there really a difference between them? I use Google out of habit only.

A long time ago I had a short spell at an awful company that made you give them a list of sites you need for development work, which they would then add to a whitelist on the firewall's outgoing rules, WTF. They would automatically turn down anything with the word "blog" in it, claiming that "you're here to work, not to read blogs" and "if you were up to your job you'd be able to do it without having to look stuff up". Proper cunch of bunts.

MS Access is alive and well - ESRI's ArcGIS products let you use Access-based Geodatabases and they're not bad when it comes to portability. A lot more portable than having your GeoDb in Oracle at least..

It's a perfectly valid point though, when I got my first proper dev job our main product was an Access application backed by SQL server using linked tables. It looked good but was about as reliable as England in a penalty shoot out.

A couple of months ago I had a Microsoft Support representative with me at my desk. He was helping me with TFS and every time he needed to look up something, he would browse away from Google (already loaded on the browser) to Bing and search for what he needed. Every. Single. Time.
