This is clearly Apple running scared... they must believe that Samsung Galaxy S3 is far superior to iPhone 5.

I am so glad I got a Galaxy S2 - I would not want to help these iLawyers... What's up with Apple - if the Galaxy S3 is better than the iPhone just make the next iPhone better than the Galaxy S3  I almost feel despair at times when technology and scientific advancement is more about lawsuits than advances in knowledge and manufacturing :(

Yes  the Galaxy S2 is just about at the limit, size-wise, for a device that you can put in your pocket(the S3 is larger than the S2).

This isn't really anything new, Apple is suing anybody that has a phone that resembles the PADD's from Star Trek: The Next Generation. What's scary is that these lawsuits have actually gained traction in a couple of countries, though I doubt it will end up sticking. I had hoped Tim Cook would put an end to the personal vendetta Jobs had against All Things Android, and there were some rumors he would, but alas, they're continuing to escalate patent lawsuits to new levels if idiocy. Which is funny, because one of the first things Jobs did when he got back to Apple was put an end to the lawsuits they were involved in, culminating in the ironic imagery of "big brother" Bill Gates towering over Jobs on a giant screen, mirroring their famous 1984 commercial. (Accidentally.) Oh well. But I also don't understand your reference to the delayed iPhone 5; how can something that was never announced be delayed? If they had called the 4S the iPhone 5, and changed nothing but how much the corners were rounded, people would have declared it a huge upgrade over the 4. (Dual core vs. single core!) I don't understand the tech media.

The article on CNET talks about Apple asking for some HTC phones to be banned as well. At Hello Android [^], they list out all of the HTC phones Apple is trying to ban from the U.S.

When I first got my HTC Inspire, it was (one of) the largest available at the time. The S3 is 11% taller and 3% wider, yet 28% thinner. Depending on a person's head and hand size, they may look a bit odd talking on it.

There were rumors that the iPhone 5 would be released with iOS 5 last year and then the 4S showed up instead. Latest rumors are the 5 will be introduced next week at the WDCC [^] with availability in September(?) and specs on even par with the Galaxy S3 - which, if true, makes sense why Apple would want the S3 to be delayed. :sigh: Apple has been losing market share with all of the other smart phone makers as the article points out.

The more I read about it the more I'm likely to look at the Samsung Galaxy S3. Thanks for the heads-up, Apple.
