    Just realized my mistake. I usually just call it Haddock and not whiting. You are right, Haddock AKA whiting. Talapia, is good as well as Chilean Sea Bass. I wouldn't buy my fish, frozen. Fresh is best, on ice. If you don't smell anything, then the fish is "most" likely fresh. :)

      I'm not very good with fish. I don't really like them that much so far, but I've been tasting more of them to see what I do like. I've found that whiting is nice. I generally taste the same "tone" or mild flavor in all seafood I've tried, and it's what I don't like about it. Shrimp does not have this flavor either, but so far whiting is the only fish I've found that doesn't. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? What makes whiting different from the other fish?

        He's a long way from any fresh fish aside from some farms. Tilapia is great, I cooked mine with lots of Cumin and Cheyenne, a little mustard powder.

          I was a vegetarian :D I am sticking with the meat because I feel amazing during workouts when I eat fish and/or chicken for lunch. Fish is very noticeable, more so than chicken. Pork and beef don't really have an impact at all for workouts, so I don't eat that stuff.

              I wouldn't mind trying that at least once. There must be something to it with all the effort people are willing to put into the preparation to make it "safe" for consumption.

                I could also be one of the unlucky few who gets killed by lightning, a car accident, or any number of things. Unless the numbers are significant I wouldn't worry myself with that. I'll die someday and there's not a thing I can do about it, might as well enjoy life.

                        Why bother? I've never liked the smell of fish, though when I was young, I could eat truly fresh trout and some prepared tuna dishes. As I aged, my tolerance for fish drastically declined to the point where I could only eat halibut and some tuna dishes, though only about twice a year for each. The last time I had halibut almost two years ago, I almost couldn't finish it. I recently made a tuna based dish that I used to like, but could only eat a few bites.

                          Maybe not that specifically, but I do enjoy trying new things as much as I can, the more things I get to experience before I die the better. I just try not to worry about every little thing that can go wrong in general. Which may cause some problems later on, but that's a problem for future me :-D (past and present mes are a jerks)

                            That's why I try not to catch any when I'm out fishing. Spoils a good days drinking if you have to land the damn thing.

                              Any fish will be less fishy the fresher it is. But try swordfish, I'm not particularly fond of seafood and that's one of the more tolerable ones.
