Running battles between miners and police lasted for hours at the Pozo Soon mine with the coal workers using self-made rockets called 'voladores' to defend their position before escaping to the surrounding mountains and forests "Many miners are worried that government cuts – including a reduction in mining subsidies – will doom their industry to collapse" My point? Just that this kind of behaviour is unproductive. They have an inefficient industry that needs changing if it is to become competitive and stand up on its own two feet. However the kind of utterly idiotic thinking displayed in this video and by the contents of my last post leads me to believe the necessary changes will need to be forced on them.

Good job - now they won't just be temporarily unemployed, they will be unemployed, imprisoned, and permanently unemployable.

Quite. This kind of 'industrial' action is nothing short of a communist riot.
