I've had the same home page for the past 6 years, iGoogle. I really like having those little gadgets on my page for my email, twitter, weather, news, stocks, chat, and RSS feeds. Now, Google says that they are going to be shutting it down on November 1, 2013 : http://support.google.com/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2664197[^] From reading how they came to this decision, it sounds like they are unhappy with the low level of lock-in to Chrome and Android the site provides. Although, by then, I'll have my Surface with Windows 8 and can replace all of that functionality with Metro... and set my home page to Bing

I don't understand the rational of it. iGoogle is working properly, I'm certain it does not cost that much to keep it alive, you can even stop new development on it (stop added new gadgets and clear out all the unused gadgets)

    Watched code never compiles.

You would get better search results if you ask the guy sitting next to you.

I had several college friends that had interned with Microsoft and had gotten hired for after graduation, and even they used Google... Talk about solidarity...

Um, why don't you write your own home page and keep the primary source on your local machine, like the rest of us?
