I think you were better off out of it! Somebody grew fat on that though. I wonder where the cash is.

They did pay nice bonuses though. Where'd the money go? Gold. Mostly in gold, the rest was squandered on strippers, hookers, hotels, jets, etc.

Just point out to your current employers what happens when you leave places, and suggest it might be best if they make sure you don't want to leave there.

My boss said "Maybe, we're next!" His last job was at refco [^] which collapsed while he was there, he left and got 2 offers. One was for the place we currently work, the other was for the place I worked at, that collapsed this week.

When it's other peoples' money. The President was the type of guy to go to strip clubs and claim he "lost" thousands. Yes, he would say he "lost" a roll of money there.

Yeah, I was along for the ride. I thought I was enjoying his money when we bought $1600 bottles of wine, $100 plate dinners, etc, knowing it was likely others' brings about some guilt.

Wow, so, if I wasn't laid off last fall, I'd be without a job today and missing a paycheck right now. It looks like I got a better severance package than everyone else (just 2 weeks) is getting now (minus 2 weeks). Any who, a lot of (just now) former employees are going to the media. I hope they tell some of the good stuff so I don't have to do it myself. Maybe I'm a curse? My company 2 jobs back laid off half the workforce a year after I left. My last employer collapsed within 8 months of my leaving. Should my current company be worried? Am I a company killer?

Don't take this the wrong way... but I hope I don't see you around.

Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.

Does sort of sound like it. Perhaps you should stick to comedy.

You're not alone! The first three major jobs I had in life were with large companies which ceased to exist within a year of my leaving them. It's made it tough to list references ever since...
