Ok. I am looking for a FTP client that will persreve the timestamps on the files when I upload them. I am uploading them to a Win2k server. It sets the timestamp to the current date. I need it to keep the old timestamp. Any ideas on FTP clients that do this? I'm using WS_FTP now and it doesn't as far as I can tell. Thanks, Jonathan

Well, from reading their website, it appears that they do not really support saving the timestamp on upload. They do talk about it on download which I think WS_FTP also supports.

Hello! I'm not sure if this client supports what you want, but take a look at SmartFTP. It's a very good, free FTP client that I have been using for about a year now. I have no complaints about it. Here's the link: SmartFTP Homepage[^] Hope that helps! Sincerely, Alexander Wiseman Est melior esse quam videri It is better to be than to seem

It's been a while since I was deep in this, but I don't think the RFC supports timestamping. The timestamp will be local to the server, and I'm not sure if there's anything you can really do about it. David

SmartFTP doesn't support exactly what I wanted, but it's an awesome client so I'm switching over to it. I can accomplish what I wanted to do by uploading the files and then turning around a downloading them again. This gives me the actual date/time stamp. Thanks for the great recommendation! Jonathan
