It's my turn to name the next dog we get, and I'm leaning towards "Knuckles".

Yup. The name is important. It has to be something you wouldn't be ashamed shouting. We're planning on getting a lab early on next year (too many holidays and trips away to get one this year), and the kids want to call it Chocolate or Biscuit. Being a bit of a fatty, I don't want to be standing in a park shouting "Come here Chocolate" as it'll just like I'm too lazy to go to the shop to buy some. I'm leaning towards calling it "Blonde with the large norks".

Try naming it "Asshole" and see who turns around when you call it...

When I got one of my cats from the shelter, he was named Ginger. But I changed it right away - to me, "Ginger" is a lightly dressed and overtattooed lady in a movie of dubious character --- NOT a male cat (or dog for that matter).

I can't begin to think where you got the idea from[^]. My Ginger was a Jack Russell and he was ginger. He also raped/killed/stole everything in his wake.

In retrospect, that would have been a good name for Cash (whom we sometimes call "Cash-hole".

If it was about my ex-wife, it would have been "A Cow", or "The Harpie". :0 I understand my ex got another letter from Google - it seems they've given up trying to get a satellite view of Oklahoma because she's blocking the camera. They already askd her once to roll over, but a concerted letter-writing campaign ensued by residents of neighboring states. It's like a "not in my back yard" kinda thing. Meanwhile, ranchers the area continue to report small numbers of livestock going missing with no trace. Some blame UFO's, but I know what it really is...

Sucks that dogs are only with us briefly. It sounds like she was well loved. Any plans to head on down to the shelter?
