Any recommendations for a Free, Good, Reliable Email Client? I am thinking of bunging Thunderbird on there, but if there is a better one, do yell out!

I have had issues with Thunderbird in the past, but I just installed it a couple days ago after upgrading to Windows 7, and it seems speedier than it used to, and I haven't had any issues with it yet. I was also able to easily backup my old emails and restore them to a different profile, so I can always open those emails if I need to without cluttering my new email profile. I recommend it.

I've been using Zimbra[^] for several years and like it a lot. Using a very old version so don't know what the new one looks like or available features. Might be time to upgrade methinks.

Damn, looks like I installed it a day or two too soon. They just release version 14 with a ton of bug fixes.

Thunderbird works well for me... Granted, I don't do anything especially complicated, aside from monitoring three different POP3 accounts.

I'm with Thunderbird too, sinced :confused: 3, maybe 4 years ago? Had some issues with it, but they were mainly due to extensions. Other than that, I use it for 2 POP3 and 3 IMAP accounts (so 5 in total). Works like a charm!:thumbsup:

If you need to read and organize a lot of emails, especially from more than one mailboxes, try the one in the signature. The cross mailbox sorting and filtering functionalities is much better than any email client out there, including the one in Gmail. It is easy to use, especially if you have knowledge in SQL in which case it can guide you to construct arbitrary complex fiter expressions. For those who have Gmail account, it can even generate a conversation tree for a given email, just like the one you found in this forum. You can also perform batch delete multiple emails (like the junk mails) on the server using it. The limitations: 1) it is readonly at present, you cannot reply or send emails using it. It can be used for email backup repository however; 2) it can only use POP3 to download emails, so your emails in other folders than inbox cannot be downloaded; 3) the search "engine" and the intelligence in it makes it large, it's more than 16 MB; 4) Is was not digitally signed (its freeware anyway) so you have to make your own decision whether or not to install it (it is .net wpf program, no undeclared component is included, but some browser displays nasty warnings). If enough interests for users are there, we can allocate time to include more features in it...

I vote for Thunderbird. I've also used it a very long time and I just like the way it is, regardless of some intermittent buggy behavior. After all, it's free.
