New Windows 8 interface

What do you think of new and apparently improved "simplistic" and "minimalist" UI of Microsoft's forthcoming products, eg., Windows 8, MS Office 2013. Personally I would say that while a new look is very much welcome, they don't attract me much if I look at them through a desktop user's view. I want my PC to have a look and feel of a computer, not a Windows Phone or a tablet. A reference photo [][^]

This. Also, this has been discussed ad nauseam.

We have turned the Windows 8 matter over to JSOP in our complaint department. :)

I saw the beta version at the company I left a few weeks ago. It looks underwhelming. I'm not sure what 8 wants to be. My ex-boss spent a lot of time trying to work out where things are. Somehow, that old trusty Start button in XP and 7 was all you needed. MS might claim 8 is simpler and improved but it weren't broke so why did they?
