Oz Visit Update

Apparently someone didn't find the food as good as you had. Glad you and everyone else is OK.
It was broke, so I fixed it.
Maybe - there was a minor incident last weekend, 2 bikies came in obviously looking for someone or something, security promptly sent them on their way. Connected? Maybe, but as yet the police haven't interviewed hotel residents - seems strange to me as lots of us are working locally and so are leaving early hours of the morning and may have seen something (there are only 17 rooms or so would only have taken them half an hour) Still, who am I to say!

Someone didn't like bikers? Good luck!

Ok so you guys had me worried about visiting Australia, specifically Bankstown, Sydney. As it turns out I've been working at Bankstown airport but the hotel is in Milperra which to me seems like a reasonably nice place to be. The hotel is on the border of an industrial/residential area - it's not 5 star for sure, barely two star by my experience but no worse than hotels I've stayed in in the UK. The attached bar and restaurant is clean, has good food, and is pleasant family kind of eatery. I was beginning to think you guys might have been winding me up until today, this is what I found when I got back to the hotel this evening... Bomb[^] Luckily I fly back on Friday.

What is it with you overseas Code Project bastards? Cedric turned up to Sydney a few weeks ago and let me know when I was in Canberra and didn't return to Sydney until he had left for other parts of Australia. Now you turn up how ever manay weeks after you've been in Australia and now tell me you leave Friday which is when I get back from Canberra. All y'all bastards have to tell me if you're gona turn up here in Oz before you get here and not when you're about to leave.

Well Mr Martin if you had been keeping up here you would have seen my post several weeks ago, a few days before I left, asking what Bankstown was like! If it really bothers you that much I will be visiting again in a couple of months - perhaps you could recommend a hotel that avoids the worst of the Sydney traffic out towards Bankstown in the morning (and back in the evening obviously) but more importantly isn't going to result in me being blown into small pieces and scattered across New South Wales :)

Just finishing week 69 straight travelling down to Canberra every week from Sydney, I miss heaps on here, thought more people would notice I'm not around as much anymoew.

Perhaps, one more place to cross off the list of places I never need to visit again I guess!
Veja Du - Someplace you've never been and never want to go. :)

Sounds like way too much travelling for anyone - haven't been on here much myself in the last year or so, things seemed to get a little 'bitter' for a while, the usual internet forum 'mock indignation' anytime someone said something. Seems to be calmer now! Hopefully that community feel is back... Wishful thinking perhaps.
