I remember that name when I first used TurboPascal. It's a shame what happened to Borland over the years. They might have survived Hejlsberg departure to MS and they might have survived their rebranding fiasco when they called themselves Inprise and launched naff products. Once they crossed over to Embarcadero, it was the end (for me) of using Delphi ever again. Sad, Borland were a great company, once upon a time. Frank was a daft name however but I suppose they needed to put a personal face to Borland's market-cum-geeky image.

Remember, it's Frank and others like him who finances this wonderful, and FREE (to us), site.

One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

Indeed, but the ads are so annoying that, like many others (Go Compare, for example) that I am actively repelled from using the product.

And, like the Go Compare song, it is imprinted in your brain. Perhaps "You're (really) so MoneySuperMarket, you don't even know it"?

If it's imprinted in my brain within the box labelled "Avoid at all costs" then the advertising was counter-productive.

Are ads not supposed to get on your nerves, so that you buy anything else but not the advertised product?

Very true. In the UK, Sky flight really annoying adverts every 10-15 minutes for a best deal comparison website. It features a sort of male opera singer. When I surf around for deals on flights, insurance, and what have you, I will never go to that company's website. I don't go to the one that features promotions using meerkat animations either. Those at least are funny to watch (only so many times) but they're less grating than the former. Adverts can damage consumer confidence.

That ad would be much more successful.

So write yourself a Chrome or FF extension to set the visibility of the ad containers to hidden. It will take you less that 1 hour to research Chrome extensions, examine the CP pages, write the extension and install it. How do I know? Easy, I did it the other night. Haven't seen ads or the annoying user notifications thing ever since. :)
