Missing Win 8 RTM, or wrong timezone?
-
Hi all, As far as I recall, Windows 8 was meant to be released to Developers with a TechNet / MSDN Subscription (Assuming an X-day trial version) on the 15th of August. Now, I might just be in the wrong timezone, but I am unable to find a hint of news about this anywhere, and today is the 15th. Any ideas?

I don't know about Windows 8, but Visual Studio 2012 is supposed to be available today. It isn't - yet.
Regards, Rob Philpott.

The Article States:
The company is altering its standard procedure of first dibs for MSDN subscribers and instead, making the Visual Studio 2012 tooling available to all developers on August 15. MSDN subscribers will, however, gain access to the Windows 8 RTM on Wednesday.
Seeing as how August the 15th is a Wednesday, and both as such are today, this unfortunately leaves my original query unanswered :)

And now is the time to apply "logic" to the question. Given that Redmond is just outside Seattle, it's likely that the post refers to Wednesday Microsoft time. Now, it's also highly unlikely that MS would batch it up to happen just after midnight, so it is likely that it will happen at a more MS friendly time. If I were you, I'd try about 4PM GMT.

In Redmond it's not yet 3 in the morning.

It seems my original assumption of an incorrect time-zone was indeed correct. Thanks :)
