My suggestion: stop ironing or reduce to doing it only where it prolongs clothes life (e.g. collars) etc. * These effects the environment and/or cost money, you decide which is worse according to your political inclinations.

This suggests that you have probably gone through the troubles of ironing over and over while not actually having experienced any benefits. Yet you continued to iron and you might actually even continue even after posting how much you are against it. Even if you stop ironing now you've already went through probably about half of your life (if not longer) ironing clothes and appearently it took you this long to find out it doesn't really have any benefits. This actually makes me wonder if ironing clothes really is as bad as you say. If that isn't irony... :)

What makes you think that that is true either generally or specifically?
Up-curl on collars: I had a shirt which became uncomfortable when the collars turned up.
