I saw a person posting each question he had as a separate question over here and people flocked to it giving links which were either already given in previous solutions or new links which could have been found by the poster with a simple google search. Now I wouldn't mind seeing people helping out even for those questions but seriously? 3 to 5 solutions for a simple question which could be solved by a google search? I think this is more of a "Post and gain points". Some of them just don't read to see if existing answers are valid.

Excellent post. This carpet bombing is making Q&A a rather boring place. Is it limited to Q&A?

Well I generally felt it destroyed the quality of solutions given. One or a few good answers accepted would be easier for people in the future as well instead of having to look at too many.

Sometimes, more might be better. We could be facing exactly the same problem but solutions that correctly work of us might vary. So me thinks more answers to a question means more options to explorer just in case the the accepted answer doesn't work for me.

You are right... Probably limiting each user to one answer per thread/question would be good, at least then you should have to edit your answer and continue from there. And people who: - repost questions. - cross post questions. - add answers that are questions to their original questions. - put 0 effort asking. - make impossible to understand questions. - have not even used google. - want their homework to be done. - ask Gimmecode, plz, urgentz, asap! Should burn in hell (or in the most terrible place you believe in) for an eternity (or the longest time that you can imagine).

5! Agree with that. However I think we can limit that to at least a certain extent by "closing" questions when an answer is accepted by the poster? I have seen people post answers to questions which were answered 1 year ago. :D EDIT: And probably re-opening them when the person who posted it rejects the solution. Maybe a worthy suggestion to be posted in the Sugs and Bugs forum?

Quite right, but why beat your head against a wall fighting it? If there's a system, there will be people trying to game it. Nothing new here, and there's nothing to be gained by trying to fix it. Some people are born to be losers/users. Useful, productive people have always been plagued by them, and always will be. Don't let them get your panties in a bunch. Move along, nothing to see here...

Another problem is when someone posts "Read a book" or "Google it" as the answer. I do go to QA sometimes but I filter down to Unanswered ones so some of them get lost because some bozo posted an answer that is not an answer.
