I want to buy a high end smartphone. I wanted the maximum out of my phone I am from the dot net background and would like to learn mobile app development which is a very high priority so I hope that my smartphone can help in this regard. My confusion is which one should I go for should it be Microsoft's Lumina or Apple's Iphone or Samsung's android Galaxy s3. DO you guys have any suggestion as I am very new to mobile app development and not sure which phone can give me a comparatively smooth ride. Thanks.

If you come from .Net, probably it will be easier for you to program a Windows phone. Apart of that you should decide the OS first...

If you are a developer with any sort of experience in XAML, Windows Phone would be the best to start developing in.

Buy the current lowest-spec device. That way your apps will run like sh1t off a shovel when people run them on higher-spec devices.

I'm using a Windows Phone and loving it, but I would advise - if possible - wait a couple more months or so and get a Windows Phone 8 device - the next generation. It will have the same kernel as Windows 8 desktop and will support DirectX.
