I dunno, my Droid has an "airplane mode", wouldn't that keep a phone from receiving the signal to sleep or whatever? At least then I can still use the camera and such. Oh, and I can use a regular camera too.

Unless the phone is leased, disabling anything on it remotely breaches the contract made during the purchase.

The real issue is being able to remotely turn on someone's camera. That is worse than disabling it. Big Brother is always watching. :) Then again, you could just not buy a government tracking device and then won't have to deal with this.
