You can make a poll here[^]. But overall, it seems to me that most of the users here have a negative opinion of Facebook (myself included).

argh, i´d like to give only one answer of two at a time, but i´d like to give people the opportunity to describe their feelings about having an fb-account or not... stripped to the waist, you can simply answer this question with Yes/No ,1/0, true/false but there´s more between white & black.. unfortunately I cannot figure out how to "implement" a multiline txb additionally to Yes/No ATM, maybe early tomorrow is a better time for that..kind regards :-O

hi, cp-community. i had the pleasure to recognize that the wellknown fb-buttons are quite buried from the main UI experience here @ CP... i took more than ten seconds to identify that the f-button resides in the upper right corner. i have no Account and therefore no interest in fb at all, mostly because of security, besides, my interst is really lacking... so, what i´d like to know is ({ADMINTALK}do i have the opportunity to start a poll?{/ADMINTALK} how many of the CP-users do have an fb-account? just out of interest :-) kind regards ;)

Funny that this should come up today. Like most, I think, on here, I have a negative opinion of farcebook. That being said, I do have an account for one reason and one reason alone. And today is the reason why. One of my grandkids had a birthday a couple of days ago and being that he lives 2000 miles away, I can't just drive across town to see them. So I did what most people do and sent him a card. Well today his guardians posted a video of him and his brother thanking grandpa for the card and for all the stuff that they got with the gift cards I send them. Which is a damn sight better than any "thank you" that I ever got from their mother or their aunts which is to say that I never got a single thank you from any of the kids for anything. And that is the only reason that I have a farcebook account.

Why is common sense not common? Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level where they are an expert. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to be lazy Please stand in front of my pistol, smile and wait for the flash - JSOP 2012

You could do all that with dropbox, which is nerdier, not so dumbass, and less intrusive of your privacy. For true nerduosity, you could create your own site for it, with HTML5, and fully working in all browsers, including Mosaic. ... But you used facebook. For shame. Hand in your light sabre on the way out.

Every poll has a forum attached to it so if people want to say more they can. No need to add anything to the poll for that.

I don't have an f-button account – or G+ or anything similar – because I don't want to publicise my private life, and I don't care about other people's. I don't walk around town with a big sign with my status, and the last five trivial things that happened to me that day; why would I want to do the equivalent online?

Oh, I dunno. If there were a "Bollocks!" button, I might even stop redirecting fb to 127.0.0.1. Mind you, I'd probably get RSI, clicking it.

if ever any of my friends asked me whether they are allowed to visit fb from my systems, I responded with a sustained 'NO', even not over my dead body... :) god knows, what is at the other end of the line... edit: since English is not my native language, what does Bollocks actually mean?

Yes, I have a FB account, to keep in touch with family that are not local. Pretty much for the same reasons Wes states. All of my posts since I've had the account fit on the first page. I don't post things very often. Yeah, I've built my own website to keep in touch with family, so has my nephew. But for me it was too much effort for too little use. But I don’t have a Twitter account. For me that is just completely unnecessary.

It was broke, so I fixed it.

hi, cp-community. i had the pleasure to recognize that the wellknown fb-buttons are quite buried from the main UI experience here @ CP... i took more than ten seconds to identify that the f-button resides in the upper right corner. i have no Account and therefore no interest in fb at all, mostly because of security, besides, my interst is really lacking... so, what i´d like to know is ({ADMINTALK}do i have the opportunity to start a poll?{/ADMINTALK} how many of the CP-users do have an fb-account? just out of interest :-) kind regards ;)
