    Metro style promotes excessive use of whitespace, and the new design is less functional even if the webpage scaled to 75% as it adds more whitespace to the left and right sides. 10 :thumbsdown: 20 GOTO 10

        I really like the new menu, but the listing of articles in the home page imho is too minimalistic.

          Quite like it tbh. Though you might alienate the non-Microsoft side of the user base!! :-D A bit more pop to some of the colours though, the orange in the article section headers fades a bit too much into the background, needs to be more vibrant. And actually the article text would be better if darker too. The quick answers boxes (the number of answers and views) needs a look at...they run into each other too much. The fluid layout is far far better than fixed too, think that should be standard.

              Overall, I like the design, some issues from my point-of-view though: 1. I don't like usability of the new forum - its hard to see which posts have been read previously, are popular etc. 2. It bugs the hell out of me to have the News section relegated right down the page - on the old site that tended to be my first port of call.

                First thoughts: It's definitely a step in the right direction. Code Project need a complete refresh aesthetically. The actual html source code could do with a tidy also ;P . Second, Third and fourth thoughts.... I needs a whole lot of love for this to be successful. Metro is more about typography and consistency than anything else and this is missing. Here's a list of things I would look into. Please feel free to ignore me though. In no particular order: 1. Line height and font size - Define it once and let everything inherit from that. 2. Headers - Font-weight, cascading size 3. Forms - The login page for example is a bit of a mess. Define consistent form layouts and input size, behaviour etc, define button types for each action type (red means warning to me). 4. Colouring. Find a complementary range and stick within it. Make sure call to actions stand out with contrasting colours. There's more but I don't want to drag on. Have a look at http://www.codeplex.com/[^] where they have just recently done a refresh. It's a bit bland but it's neat and everything seems to be in the right place.

                        I don't know, I have mixed feelings about it. For 1, it does looks more simplistic in detriment of flashy (kind like why I like Windows Phone), but something doesn't seem right, it may be the getting used to. Two things I don't like are: 1 - Forum threads are not easily distinguishable. It's not very evident when one topic ends and the other begins. 2 - I can see less replies in one page, it's gotten bigger and not necessarily easier to read. Anyway, congratulations, you've tackled very well the change phobia.

                            It looks "cleaner" but the font is too small and faint. A heavier font would be perfect.

                              The first impression is good. Have to browse the site a while to get a good opinion. But I'm glad you didn't use UPPERCASE texts for the menus. :-D

                                Sorry the web site is a mess, metro style doesn't work, it makes it hard to find what you want and is hard on the eyes. Ok not as bad as VS 2012 - but definitly a step backwards. Ohh and its first time I have ever had an error page show up on Code project - picture of those funny brown bugs eating something (yes have seen it!). Guess will get use to it ovetime, one adjusts to bad things...... :(

                                        congrats! --- the only thing that sticks out, early on, is the button-red. red clashes with orange quite badly and as another poster said, it stands out as a warning. (but it's not hard to find, at least.) i'd go with a strong earth-tone. --- the other thing that stands out for me is that there is no left margin beside the vertical menu on the left. .container-content.fluid { margin: 0 0 0 20px; padding: 0 20px 0 0; }
