I was happy with the old layout but hey-ho, change for the sake of change. The new layout reminds me a bit of MSDNs. Did Microsoft quietly buy out CP? :) Anyway, looking at threads and replies I see a lot of space between them. The old layout kept replies much closer to each other but with the new, I find I'm doing more Next/Prev operations which isn't so good or user-friendly. I'm using Firefox (latest) but I've never configured anything before. Is it possible to adjust the spacing between the posts?

I use Chrome and set my Zoom factor to 90% which makes it better for me. Try changing your settings until you find a scale that suits your eyes; sorry, can't remember where it is on Firefox.

One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

On Chrome at least, you can also use CTRL and the mouse wheel to set the zoom factor.

IE9 supports the same, I prefer 85% zoom though, 100% makes everything way too big

It's the same for IE 9.

It was broke, so I fixed it.

Zooming in makes the text bigger, but gets rid of all that surrounding whitespace.

After I'd become a lounge regular at work I promised myself I wouldn't log on from home. After I'd been checking the lounge at home for a while I promised myself I wouldn't access it on my phone. So I've been visiting the lounge on my phone for a couple of years now, but today my thumb is getting sore. Time to remake that last promise I think.

I thought it looked pretty good at 100%, but it looks much better zoomed in, even though the font in this textarea gets kinda wonky.

..the market sees Microsoft as the standard. They introduced gradients in Office 2007, and all of a sudden I'm adding gradients to existing products (which was more important to management than fixing bugs and the likes). Next, they introduce an Office-Lint. Whenever MS changes their look, the market follows. Even if you can explain why your design is "superiour", you'll loose; people aren't interested in it, they want "new and sexy", and that's the look that Microsoft provides.
