The colour is much much better and will let get into old age without too many eye problems courtesy CP. :) But can you please please remove all the Javascript eye candy stuff? It's functionally a void IMHO and 2012 is way too far to resort to JS mouseover fade-in/fade-out effects. The minimal JS functions on the older layout was perfect and did not interfere with the display and layout.

    It's CSS3 transitions. No Javascript.

I'm driving myself and our designer a little nuts trying to get a neat way of highlighting the current message in forums and so we've gone back to what we had, albeit with a different, and more complimentary colour. Is the text of this message on the selected background easy to read, or us going back to white better for everyone, or (as I'm guessing) somewhere in the middle. A lighter shade, perhaps.

The previous one was just fine, this one is a big mismatch. it is like the designers got confused between new and old theme. :)

It's much better, thanks! :rose: If you reduce the vertical padding between lines and increase the contrast of the Reply | Edit | Delete post commands (to match the contrast when you mouseover them) you won't hear me whining for a l-o-n-g time. :-D Gracias, /ravi

The background and main text are OK but the pre-mouseover gray text at the bottom is putrid. X|

Much improved although the light grey for the "reply", etc. prior to mouse-over could be a trifle darker. Keep up the good work.

Looks much better. I like it, and as the others have mentioned, the grey links need to be adjusted.

It needs a better font. I find the black on orange in this particular font difficult to read. Even with my specs it becomes straining after a while.

I find the messages a little hard to read, had to press control 0 just to make sure I was at default, perhaps just a tad larger, e.g. 0.075em to 0.8 em, maybe just a little more contrast, lighten the bg color and darken the text 1 level. The old format was really easy to read for me. But we must accept the new. Looks great, very clean lines.

I dont think there is no functional value, it is for lowering the UI noise. same reason we have expand and collapse threads. I guess CP can bind the css class with the noise level we select on the top of the forum, to make everyone happy.

Keep going, happy users makes it worth it! The changes you've made since the release of the new design is really making a difference, atleast for me, it's readable again.

Yes, but it's to peachy, I'd try very light grey and make the quotes white instead. Might turn out well, or not. Can't know until you've tried it.

It looked a bit dull on my lappie (due to the angle of viewing). Viewed on a proper monitor it looks OK (better than the white), but I'd try a shade lighter to increase the contrast with the text a little bit more. Now the tweaks are going in, things are coming together much more nicely IMO.
