"Mastering MFC Dev using MS Visual C++ 6" CD from MSDN? Is it worth my time, knowing minimal MFC abd coming from a Win32 background? Thanks! :) ---- Xian
IMHO, (and remember that this is coming from someone that writes books :) is that on a topic as mature as MFC, you can find more and better information on the Web. I would suggest that you use (in no particular order): CodeProject CodeGuru Experts-Exchange I think CP has the better influx of new, original work, CG has a better overall inventory of articles and ExEx is the best for posting and getting a specific question answered. Oops. I've been using for so long that I didn't think to add it. It's www.experts-exchange.com Before any of the zealots start flaming me, ExEx is not a direct competitor to CP as it doesn't provide the same article format. I use it in conjunction with CP and CG to do my programming. ExEx is strictly a Q&A type deal where you get 200 points for signing up, 5 points each day and use those points to reward people who help you. The competitiveness of people trying to get the points leads to some fantastic help. Most times, you will literally get code snippets and whole demos instead of the typical RTFM found on most newsgroups. Anyway, check it out. It's not nearly as good as it was before it was sold to a big corporation (sound familiar?), but it's still pretty good. Cheers, Tom "Ya got lucky, ya lucky prick" - Keith McCready

Thanks, I used your e-mail as a reference. The thing is, the course is free through my job, and I kind of need some time to kill, so since it is "free" is it worth just time? :) ---- Xian
You just said my favourite word: "free" That changes everything. If someone else is ponying up the bread and you've got the cycles, then I'd definitely do it. Cheers, Tom "Ya got lucky, ya lucky prick" - Keith McCready
