How much time does your computer need to load VS 2010 Ultimate?

My laptop is a core-i5 Ivy Bridge (2.5GHz, boost up to 3.1GHz) with 8GB RAM (1600MHz) and a GeForce GT 650M 2GB, 7200rpm HDD. It is powerful enough I think so. But I have DevExpress Libraries installed in my laptop and each time VS 2010 Ultimate is loaded, it also loads the DevExpress libraries and that seems to slow down my laptop. It takes about 10 or more seconds to load all the components and be ready for me to start working. If your computer also has both DevExpress and VS 2010 Ultimate installed, please tell me the time it takes to load all VS 2010. Thanks!
I don't have DevExpress installed, but even on my desktop box (2.8GHz Core 2 Q9550 with 8GB RAM and a Samsung 830 series SSD) VS2010 is sluggish to load (both VS2008 and VS2012 are far quicker). My conclusion is the same as that I held before fitting the SSD: VS2010 is a bloated dog of a VS version.

That is the bottleneck, get a SSD. If you need more space you can do what I did with my dell latitude, buy HDD caddy and put your existing HDD in it, it will fit in your DVD drive space (since we do not need it anymore) if your laptop have removable dvd drive. No matter how fast is RPM, laptop HDD always have terrible performance, since they have to consider noise, power and vibration (but they have better density). I also bought laptop with 7200 rpm drive after using 5400 rpm, the performance gain was not very noticeable except file transfer, but the battery life was 45-60 min less (gfx card was also responsible for this). and when I used SSD the performance was crazy with (20 - 30) + 30 min longer battery life (without additional HDD).

You're bitching about 10 seconds?? My work laptop takes about 4 minutes to start 2010, 5 minutes to start 2012. Yes, DevExpress is installed, but that only added seconds to the start up times. My machine at home, with DevExpres, about 5 seconds.

Your machine at home is pretty fast, but your laptop is some kind of pentium 4, isn't it? I know that a core 2 duo (about 2.3 GHz, 2GB RAM, HDD) can load the VS 2010 in at most 3 minutes.
Neither machine has an SSD either. The work laptop is a Core i5-520M (2.40 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache), 8GB of RAM and a 7200 RPM 250GB drive. In a word, it sucks.
