Sandy in USA and Nilam[^] in India. And there might be a few more at some other places as well. Is it the beginning of the end of the world?

The master of the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which; he simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.

No. The end of the world began as soon as the planet formed. It'll be taking a while. We call it "coincidence" :)

Probably is the beginning of the end. I think the climax will occur in the states, next Tuesday.

The world he's talking about wasn't born yet in that era. Unless you refer to the existence of scattered matter that would later make up the planet, in which case you can not speak of "beginning" or "end", since the matter will always be somewhere.

..and there it becomes a philosophical thread. The law of "conservation of energy" and the law of "conservation of mass" would imply that earth would always be here, in one form or another.

Have you heard a whimper ? The great nuclear physicist T. S. Elliot stated clearly, in 1925, that the world would end with a whimper. best, Bill

                        No, that would be:

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane and Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
