Please anyone here can explain to me what is happening to this site www.scribd.com , I can access it and all its sub-sites with my cellphone using Opera Mini browser but not with my laptop using any browser, even I tried pinging that address and there wasn't any reply. I also tried connecting my laptop to my cellphone via bluetooth and use the cellphone as a modern to connect to the Internet, then tried pinging the www.scribd.com but it was the same, that means there is nothing wrong with my Internet connection (my cellphone uses that connection and is able to access that site). I've accessed to that web site successfully some times before. Do you have any experience in this issue? Please help me out. Your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure that Opera isn't just showing you a copy of the page(s) it has in its cache?

Looks like a DNS problem. try changing DNS server to google's public DNS. It is 8.8.8.8 (sometimes your ISP's dns servers do not update frequently) Also Opera mini (I might be wrong), shows pages optimized for mobile from opera servers, so it is not actually requested from client side. means it is not using your DNS server and you can access the site using Opera mini but not using any other devices.

I got access to this website on laptop but can't access this specific website on mobile through Operamini 6.5 therefore I downloaded UCbrowser then i got access. Is this is a server problem or something else. For computer you can check your antivirus site block management or change DNS as above said by the another guy

Thanks! You've solved my problem, it exactly involves DNS, I chose the preferred DNS as 8.8.8.8 and it worked like a charm. Thanks again!
