Stored procedure timeout
-
I have a quite simple SP that for some reason generates a timeout ONCE IN A WHILE - mostly it's ok, but in some cases it isn't. I've tried increasing the timeout period twice, but I still get the timeout, so I don't really think that that's the problem. The timeout ONLY occurs in production, it is not reproducable in any staging environment or on my local development computer. So my question for today is: Does anybody know if it's possible to somehow get more detailed information from the SQL Server on WHY it times out? If it is simply due to the SP taking too long or if it has to do with something being locked or some entirely different possibility? The exception I catch is simply "The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding." TIA...
