Samsung Galaxy Note 2 = Samsung Galaxy SIII + 0.7"

People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

Samsung just makes GREAT tablets - hands down. I have their Tab 10.1 - have had it for a year - not a thing wrong with it - ever. (and no - I don't work for Samsung - in fact I worked for RIM for 5 years.) A client of mine has the Note - she loves it. My favorite thing about it - there is nothing like kicking back with it and surfing the net etc when you don't want to be on the actual computer. It has replaced the physical newspaper IMO. And if you have a Samsung TV (I have the C8000 55in) - they play well together...

Yep, got the 10.1 Note. In general - pretty impressed with it. I'm running Cyanogen on it and runs really well. Do lose some stuff if you put a custom ROM like the split windows and IR blaster capability but I prefer bare bones to the Samsung Touch Wiz stuff. The pen is very awesome and the only reason why I bought it. It's not paper and pen but it's very close and with some of the apps out there you can get vector based writing which is a huge bonus. The only two downsides I've found: - 30 pin port - Resolution - Glare The 30 pin port instead of Micro USB isn't a biggie, it's just I can't use my other cables, again, not something I cry about. The resolution isn't that bad, in fact it's quite nice but sometimes you can see the pixels, but does depend on what you're doing. A full HD screen crammed into there would be very nice, in fact if a another version comes out with full HD, I'll get it. The same screen technology that is in the S3 would be nice here, just full HD. The glare is slightly annoying, most of the time it's fine, but it's the same most electronic devices and screen reflection. Anyways, great device, decent build quality, sound via closed headphones is very awesome. Great for graphics work, some UI design and creating rough artwork I can reference later. Have hooked up a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse to it as well and that can be very useful in certain situations. Also hooked up a PS3 controller - and that is very cool. Haven't tried plugging in hard drives into it (haven't got the OTG cable) but I'm sure it can manage that. Overall - I'd recommend it. The pen made the purchase for me, otherwise would have gone with a Transformer Prime (TF700 I believe). Did look at iPads but no pen capability there except for add on devices. Plus I already have heaps of Android apps on the phone. Didn't really look at the Surface nor did I want to, it's not here in NZ anyways. But am running Windows 8 on the laptop and... well, that's another story.
