HTC one X vs. Samsung Galaxy SIII

Can't make up my mind. Both have their pros and cons. In order of importance to me:
- HTC has a better display.
- Samsung has better battery time.
- Samsung has better sound. (At least in the built in speaker)
- HTC has Sense. (vs Touchwiz, it's a matter of taste I suppose)
- Samsung has Smart Stay
- HTC is marginally cheaper. (Where I live)
- Samsung has better photo. (Marginally)
- Samsung can swap battery
- HTC has 32 GB Storage (vs 16GB, on the model I'm checking out. Otherwise the HTC isn't just marginally cheaper)
- Samsung can add storage up to 64GB.
- Samsung has 2GB RAM. (vs 1GB)
- Samsung looks better. (That's just a matter of taste really)
What's your take? Which one is better and why?

I've got the S3, and mybest friend the HTC ONE X, after having both in my own hand i personally go with the S3 anytime. because:
"HTC has a better display." Not in my opinion but that's tase to be honest
"Samsung has better battery time." True, as long as you deactivate some features. It can hold up to 3 days
Samsung has better sound. (At least in the built in speaker) True
HTC has Sense. (vs Touchwiz, it's a matter of taste I suppose) You can have thoose widgets in Samsung also just have to search for them

"Samsung can swap battery" In htc you can too, but you'll have to dismount the entire phone, kinda sucks...
HTC has 32 GB Storage (vs 16GB, on the model I'm checking out. Otherwise the HTC isn't just marginally cheaper) With sd card going in the 64gb range it doesn't really matter..

Samsung has 2GB RAM. (vs 1GB) Wrong or half true, depends of the version, mine has 1 GB was a bit cheaper though.
Samsung looks better. (That's just a matter of taste really) HTC does have the "high quality" look compared to the samsung plastic. but i use a leather phone/wallet cover.HTC Display had a dead pixel lane on my friends phone after just 3 month use...could be a coincidence but same thing happend to my earlier htc wildfire.

Absolutely love my S3. I do like Sense a little better than Touch Wiz but you get used to it.

Funny thing is I have an HTC Sensation and a very good friend of mine has a Samsung Galaxy and I find that she complains about her phone way more often than I do. So I've either had good luck with this phone or HTC is putting together some good phones.

Samsung can take instant photos, which is a very, very nice feature. Although it makes an annoying sound every time which can only be disabled by hacking the phone. Apparently, it is to satisfy European Regulations because you guys are a bunch of perverts that like to take secret pictures so there is a requirement somewhere that phones do this. So, in the decontented Americanized version I still get this annoying sound. Now if I go deer hunting and try to take a picture I will scare the buck off. {sounds better when said aloud} Overall, very happy with my S3. (Download swype, Samsung keyboard sucks)
Need custom software developed? I do custom programming based primarily on MS tools with an emphasis on C# development and consulting. I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

I have no idea which would be better. I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Nexus cuz my son told me to. It is freakin' GREAT. I've started learning android, and although you gotta deal with Eclipse and java, it's really not too bad! You can use c++ if you jump thru the jni hoops.

Having used both of them, I would go for S3 any day. Apart from keyboard, everything else is nice.

Depends. If you don't care at all about the look and feel then S3. Else at least for me HTC 8X all the way. It's snappy, versatile fast and GORGEOUS. I especially like the California Blue color. Simply beautifull(for a phone don't go there) :) Sorry(missread the title), One X i don't know what to say about.

I have the One X. I like the screen. And the whole feel of it. Software is stable and battery life not so bad.

The odd thing is that I don't really see a big difference between the different models. So ok, the last one is a bit taller, and with the one before that I started to see a lot of people talking to their phones, getting louder and more annoyed for every time they had to repeat their question.

I have wondered about that. But would have thought that this would be a Japanese problem, or Americans being afraid of it. Swype is a good tip. :thumbsup:

If you don't believe me, check out pentile[^] at wikipedia. </not important> But the display isn't everything. I can't see the pixels without reading glasses anyway.

I've held the two next to each other. I prefer the Samsung, it's not close. Contrast is a big factor in that apparently for me, I also prefer plasma TVs to LCDs for that reason.
