I just spent the last year working in Silverlight (for desktop applications) and now I've been asked to re-design our website. I'll have to crack open a book or two and find out what this mysterious HTML stuff is all about - it's been years since I've worked with it.

Forget the books, all you need to know is how to format tables.

HTML is about taking a giant random tag-crap over the content and hope&pray that browsers do something nice with it.

I never publish a page unless tables are nested at least 3 deep.

To make a friendly to the eye site HTML isn't enough . You need at least css and maybe some javascript / ajax

I recommend also reading OReilly's "Programming ASP .NET MVC 4" and brushing up on JavaScript and CSS. /ravi

Just remember to use lots of <Blink></Blink> elements. It will make your site look awesome.

They'll be second only to the scroll element.

Re-design start with Photoshop(design), not HTML. While you at it, don't forget books on CSS, PHP and other web-related abbreviations. Don't worry, it's just like riding a bike... after few falls you will be back on track in no time.
