I've just heard it's all a test....

.....to find out who the real contributors are. Basically the Hamsters are finding out who still contributes when not motivated by points and those who do are going to be rewarded with money and the latest gadgets. (I waited three threads before bringing it back to Rep Points again. ;P )

Maybe the voting system was the test. To see what people will do for arbitrary distinctions.

on the other hand, the CONSTANT bitching about the lack of voting has made this forum really fncking dull.

Your logic is quite flawed. Why would they reward those who contribute anyways? While it may seem wrong to you, from an economic standpoint it would be more likely that those that do not contribute unless rewarded would reap rewards in the hopes that they will contribute more.
Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.

Does contribution to CP need to be reward driven? It is what it is!, stop whining and stop bitching! If you need instant gratification move on if you enjoy chatting with others that have the same interests and are willing to share then stay. Enough already!

The United States invariably does the right thing, after having exhausted every other alternative. -Winston Churchill America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. -Oscar Wilde Wow, even the French showed a little more spine than that before they got their sh*t pushed in.[^] -Colin Mullikin

Maybe not a test, but an opportunity for us to focus more on what we're saying, than that we're saying something. :)

I guess your standards for "contribution" are different than mine. I rarely see anyone actually contribute. :)
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.
