I think leaving it open to a web-vote it was obvious the Cat would win. I liked the idea of a robot.

I am far too cynical. I think the cat was decided long ago and the web vote was just a sop for the purposes of marketing. I cannot see why the cat represents poverty though? (For them as don't know, half the tokens represent wealth and half, penury).

It wasn't rigged, it was just worded differently. Most men, and a few women I know, love pussy.

Penury. Poor tokens were The Dog, The Iron, The Boot and The Thimble whereas the wealthy tokens were The Car, The Ship, The Sack of Money and, of course, The Top Hat.

Agreed. I was hoping for either the robot or helicopter. I definitely thought the iron was the one that needed to go.

I liked the flat bottom on the iron though made it slide around the board easily.

I liked the guitar as well, but I don't think it fits as well with the other pieces. I thought the Robot was a better fit, but that's just my opinion. I don't really have much of a reason for it.

Don't slide, pick it up and place it! That's what Grandmama always said, I'd get into trouble for sliding pieces about.

In a mad world corrupted by corruption and perversion it's wonderful to read that some things still have integrity. Monopoly tokens[^]

It's a pity there was no where to vote for them to just get rid of the whole Monopoly game. It's a horrible game that thankfully I haven't had to endure for over 20 years. To paraphrase Jay-Z: "I got 99 games, but Monopoly* ain't one" *Or any of the thousand of Monopoly themed clones. [EDIT: Fixed a typo]

Damn! That was actually my favorite token. I used to place it over the GO arrowhead as if it was a rocket or boat.

I don't always play Monopoly, but when I do I use something other than what came with the set. The standard pieces are for the unimaginative.
