Hm. You are normally disabused of that notion the first time you don't get cards, and flowers for the lady in your life, even if you have already married her. The Silent Protest you get normally sticks in your mind. As does the lack of "romance" in the weeks to come... (I sometimes think they got special "man training lessons" while we got metalwork)

It's more of a helpful reminder. Pull your head out of the code for a second, look around the house. If there is somebody of the opposite sex in there with you it might be time to run out for some chocolate. Less we set that persons rage flag to true. ;P

In my country this day is really special because we have two celebrations in one day. One is Valentine’s Day, and the other (the more respected and ascent holiday) is saint Trifon, also known as Trifon Zarezan. Bulgarians celebrate wine, vine-growers and wine-makers. So we have a choice. You could spend “quality time” with your lady, or you could just get dirt drunk. Most of us are trying to do both. :-D

Hey, that little heart on the Code Project logo may have saved my marriage. Got up first thing this morning and checked CP, saw the heart, and immediately found my wife, gave her a kiss, and told her "happy valentines day". Whew!
