I'm in Wales, so it's technically GMT. But this being Wales we are still on the Julian calendar, and use water clocks for timing as there is so much of it falling from the sky...

If you get an email telling you that you can catch Swine Flu from tinned pork then just delete it. It's Spam.

I know that in Wales, every village has a fireman. He goes round the homes every night to light the fire. He will not give his secret of how to make fire to anybody. And I love listening to Welsh being spoken, every now and then an English word crops up in the middle of a sentence because the concept is so new there is no Welsh word for it. You get "blah blah blah Internet blah blah blah Mobile Phone blah blah blah Wheel blah blah blah"

Zulu time that is something I haven't heard in a long time.

Zulu time is something I associate with the time my dad was in the army.

That's what we let the rest of the world think. We don't want you barbarians sullying our Eden. Places like Byker and Jarrow don't really exist; they are a fiction to keep the unwashed masses out. All those fat dole wallah's so lovingly wheeled out by Sky News at the drop of a hat - all RADA trained actors.

Damn cheek! We stick an "io" on the end:

Consett isn't Tyneside. Consett is inbred central. It's the North East equivalent of Norfolk.

Its obvious - GMT+8 covers Western Australia and is also known as Hotel time. No better place for those Aussies pi$$ing it up in a hotel to be. What more do you need to know ? Says me at GMT+2 or Beta time in South Africa (the Rainbow Nation which is still a beta version). Cheers, Brett

My favourite was hearing a lady say to a child in a push chair "Rwyfi yn mynd around the block". Apologies for my poor Welsh spelling; it's been a while ...

In brief GMT + 2 but if you need the longer version and waste your reading time there you go :) Like most states in Europe, Summer (Daylight-Saving) Time is observed in Turkey Time, where the time is shifted forward by 1 hour; 3 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+3). After the Summer months the time in Turkey Time is shifted back by 1 hour to Eastern European Time (EET) or (GMT+2)
