I may listen to crap music, but at least I don't do that. It's like admitting your preference for left-hand threaded sheep.

Sitting here, headphones on and banging away adding about 50 classes to an EF model (largest DB I've ever put together!) Nobody can make a guitar sing like David Gilmour, Live in Gdansk[^].

Oh, I thought jazz had done the full circle and had become the newest old thing among the beautiful people.

'Classic' jazz (folks like Miles Davis or Dave Brubeck) has always remained cool. Smooth jazz, which sometimes get lumped in with 'chill'[^] isn't nearly so taxing to the ear. It's very popular with the middle-aged "I'm too fuckin' tired" set.

Indeed. I like Louis and Billie. I don't have any of Ella's recordings, other than in some compilations. I've got a couple Coltrane albums, but haven't listened to them in a while.

Probably the single thing I dislike about CP is the loss of credibility you incur when it comes out that you don't listen to metal :sigh:. I've got some on my iPod, but I have to be in the mood to listen to it. Most of the time I'm sufficiently wound up over what I'm working on, I don't need my music to add to it.

I like most genres of music (classical, classic rock, classic jazz, Americana, country, blues, country rock) with the unashamed exception of metal.

It's OK, I'm not credible anyway. I'm considering SQL to be my first language, how does that count?

I'm listening to the whole spectrum starting with Jazz and ending with Neue Deutsche Härte. But my heart is with aussie rock like AC/DC and Rose Tattoo.

While I love metal, I also love Jazz, rock, blues, soul, funk, classical, opera. As a musician, the only thing I don't like is music where a musician hasn't been involved at any stage. CG will tell you that as much as I love guitarists like Vai, Pettrucci, Satriani and Morse, three of my favourites are Al Di Meola[^], Joe Pass[^] and Mr 335[^] himself.

I was brought up to respect my elders. I don't respect many people nowadays.

It was meant as a sarchasm. I work in VB.NET when I'm not making Queries in SQL. I find VB bashing mostly childish. The capabilities is almost identical to C# as they are both using the CRL. The big difference is the syntax, readability and a whole load of brackets. And readability is a matter of opinion mostly.

It must be a Dave kind of day; I'm listening to Dave Koz. Yes, I like smooth jazz. No, I don't care it sounds like elevator music. Yes, I realize it's uncool. It's better than listening to 'Z' arguing with my boss, or 'J' on his cell phone in the cube next to mine.
