I told you the French would defeat the English... ... and they were close to it, until PSA decided to substitute all our good players for much less good players twenty minutes before the end. AAARGH ! Until that point, everything could have happened, and the XV tricolore winning was not an impossible option, even though not in the lead on the score board. I really thought we would do it, damn. A highlight was Fofana's 70 meters try (OK, 50 with the ball), awesome. And yes, I am late, but I was away and could not comment about it till today. Should this be a problem, then we'd happily talk about that try that was granted to England despite of their players being off-side.

So the question is now, are we going to see French whitewash, and what are the likely repercussions if that does happen?...

Yeah I was worried until those substitutions. We were ahead at the time (12-10) but there's no guarantee it would stay that way. And yes we got lucky with that deflection to give us the try, it was technically accidental offside. We'd still have won after those substitutions though.

To be honest, it was not undeserved. I hope we will not get the cuillère en bois, though...

No they didn't; we won - convincingly. And you can drag up every excuse that you can think of, but the fact remains: England won!

Exactly my point (in the op, not last friday). Convincingly may be a bit exaggerated, but England won.

Actually, they were as close to beat the Brit as they were to beat the Welsh or the Italians for that matter. I'm french and I support the Blues, however I can see a lovely wooden spoon coming up this way because this season the Scots and the Irish are fighting for their meat....

Now come on surely you can get the difference between 'Brit' and 'English' right in a post where you mention the other two British nations as well!

Ooops, my bad, you're right, I should have used the nickname "Rossbif" (the french way of pronouncing Rost Beaf) instead... thanks for rectifying my sentence (I've been away from London for too long...)
