Isn't this a problem with WinXP in general? Mine doesn't remember the status bar setting either in Explorer. Hmm, Notepad on my computer seems to work correctly. I'm using XP Professional though. I get kindof a similar error where the View Source option in IE works for a few weeks and then it quits working for a few weeks. It is, the way to "fix" it is to close all Internet Explorer windows and then open up Windows Explorer. Then you tick the View/Status Bar. From then on the status bar should always appear in both Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer. It did for me. For awhile I got annoyed that everytime I opened IE the status bar would not be there, no matter how many times I selected it in the menu. Eventually someone told me that Windows Explorer needs to be set with IE closed first.

That is how mine works too (XP Pro). Makes sense though. The status bar shows line # & column for the text cursor. When word warp is active, there isn't a valid line # & column anymore because of the wrapping. Steve

Hmm, Notepad on my computer seems to work correctly. I'm using XP Professional though. I get kindof a similar error where the View Source option in IE works for a few weeks and then it quits working for a few weeks. When it occurs, clear the browser's cache. I don't know why this works, but once someone said this to me and it works 100% of the time. I see dumb people
