Thats non-programming related section of a site dedicated to programmers. Lets extend that out to "things that may be of interest regarding the workplace". Now lets do a quick straw poll of the last half a dozen threads Don't be stupid, be a smarty... - A thread about the "fun" of over zealous Health & Safety in the workplace - Relevant to the workplace... check - relevant to programmers ... meh. How full is your Inbox? - A thread about, well, full inboxes - Relevant to the workplace... check - relevant to programmers ... I suppose cross-company collaboration... - A thread about the difficulties and challenges of collaboration - Relevant to the workplace... check - relevant to programmers ... check Are you a Brogrammer? - A thread with one of those humourous tests - Relevant to the workplace... meh - relevant to programmers ... check I wish they'd tell me these things - User having trouble with browser/CP - Relevant to the workplace... meh - relevant to programmers ... check The last 2 things you've contributed "Oh look at how smarty I am, I can avoid tax because I'm such a super-accountant" "Oh look at how smarty I am, I translated something from German to English" And lets not forget the daily "Oh look how smarty I am, I can pull a cryptic crossword clue from the Torygraph" *Yawn* Edit: Tidied up some typos - otherwise you'll only use an ad-hominem to attack my "poor grammar"

Joe programmer hangs in in Q&A, rarely comes to the lounge. The lounge is for Bob programmer, who likes to hang out here and talk about anything BUT programming. Personally I like seeing the things people post such as that, it is interesting to me to see what people in other countries and cultures are interested in and the things they do.

Treat stressful situations like a dog, if you can't eat it, play with it or screw it, then just piss on it and walk away. Be careful which toes you step on today, they might be connected to the foot that kicks your butt tomorrow.

Great, looks like Dave will have 1 reader of his Blog. That's one more than most people, so he's all set. However, please, if you're going to read blogs to find out about other cultures and nationalities I really wish you wouldn't use an Accountant from Luton :|

What a fun game... Let's look at yours. Personally Attack on me[^] More DD Attacks[^] Guess What[^] This one is an attack on Nagy[^] Insulting Nagy Again[^] Impugning My Intelligence[^] Weak Invective[^] Tired and Repetitive Gag first offered by Nagy[^] You say I am not a worthy poster, but you are so full of self-righteous shite that you cannot see what a twat you are. If you do not like my posts, I would suggest you do not read them. The trouble then is that you would feel like you were missing out. You need to get a life and perhaps not be as smug as you try to be, because the evidence is you have very little to be smug about. Why don't you turn off your computer and go and see if you can get another human being to interact with you long enough to convince them to have sex. Trust me, you would enjoy it better than typing away in your underpants in the bedroom you share with your brother. Lock the door if you are going to masturbate, you wouldn't want your mum to catch you. Oh, and grow up, you i

It's almost like I guessed you were going to do that - that pretty much defines an ad-hominem attack. And if you care to look outside of the Lounge, you'll see I contribute programming, on a programming-related website. Where's your contribution outside of this forum? Oh yeah, there isn't any because your an Accountant. I did find all the Human being, shared with your brother, masturbation stuff funny though. Made me chuckle.

Have you ever considered writing a blog? You could write down all your legal-but-morally-questionable business shennanigans, as well as all the fascinating other things that happen to you in one place, where joe programmer wouldn't have to read it.

My boss is a keen rower. He has had stuff published on the history of rowing in fact. He has just presented me with a small piece of card and asked me to translate it from German to English. (He knew what this card was, but is unable to speak German). It was an entry ticket to the Hospitality Area at the Rowing Competition from the 1936 Olympics. (Tuesday 11th Aug 1936) It has the Olympic Symbol with a small Swastika in it. Gott in Himmel! Mind you, it was the Nazis that gave us the Torch Relay. Ghastly Fellows.

For those not familiar with the 1981 Nationality Act [Section 11 IIRC], if you're not born in Britain you can't be British. These are normally the same BNP voters who can't accept that a British born black is British. I know you know, but for those of a retarded disposition, if you are born overseas to a woman legally married to a British man born in Britain then you too are British. If, as is mine and my daughter's case, then if your father was an overseas born Brit, then you can claim immediate nationality if his father was British Government Employed - normally, but not limited to, Diplomatic Corps or Military. The act has been amended to allow British antecedence on the maternal side, but there are caveats to which I am not fully converse with.

What is your point exactly? That you don't find it interesting? If you find this happening to you frequently might I suggest that you just don't read the poster or just don't read anything in this forum? Also what is it exactly that you think this forum should be used for?

I suppose that would be a good point if there was some rule that said anything about who was allowed to post in this forum. But as there isn't...

It's the Internet. Interesting trumps Relevant.
