Japan has given a warning it would launch a pre-emptive military action against North Korea if it had firm evidence Pyongyang was planning a missile attack. We aren't the April 1st, aren't we? :~

The whole damn thing is just f@#$%ing stupid. I can't belive the N.Korean's still hold this grudge with Japan. Were talking about a whole new generation of Japanese people who are some wonderfull people and have nothing to do with Japan's past transgressions. This stuff is just getting out of control. Thanks "W", I don't think any of this would have happened without the "Axis-of-Evil" speech. The village idiot is running the country. "Veni, Vidi, Booyah!" - Ceasar

This is not a case of "we have 'em but you can't". It's a case of "you've shown you can't be trusted with 'em, so we intend to take 'em away from you". Not the greatest situation to be in, but burying our head in the sand won't work either. Chris Austin wrote: ...but his ill-spoken rethoric is just making it worse How? The Iraqi leaders do not respond well to diplomacy. They have been breaking UN resolutions for 10+ years. Diplomacy has not even slowed them down. The doves in the UN still believe that ignoring the problem will make it go away. When the $hit hits the fan, how many people have to die before they decide to react? 1,000? 10,000? 100,000? 1,000,000? 10,000,000? Don't get me started on NK. IMHO we need every nation located even close to NK screaming bloody murder right now. I applaud Japan for having the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing. How exactly did Bush's speech change anything, other than let them know we're watching and that we take this $hit seriously even if others do not. Mike Mullikin

I have to jump in here and disagree. The issues (NK and Iraq) that we have today has existed for quite some time, it is just more visible now. Bush's speech did not create a crisis, it only shed light on an existing one. Would you prefer to not know there was a crisis and just wait for a major accident/terrorist strike/nuclear arms sale (what do you think NK is going to do with this techology?) Blaming these issues on Bush is short-sighted and not a very well thought our argument. NK did not magically develop nuke technology in the past 14 months. Anyone who believes Iraq is not hiding munitions, etc is closing their eyes and singing "Mary had a little lamb...".
