I personally feel group policy support and existing API is not so very user friendly and no proper support can be found while googling. Don't know, may be for me this goes right : "Unskilled craftsman fight with his own tool" :( Still I will say that GP support from Microsoft sucks!!!

Yes it's a mess, and has been since Windows NT 4.0. It doesn't provide any clear and understandable settings. Some of which conflict with other policy settings, usually undoing the other policy setting without your knowledge. It only workable if using Active Directory within a domain scenario. Still a confusing nightmare.

      Q. Hey man! have you sorted out the finite soup machine? A. Why yes, it's celery or tomato.

If policy is done on individual machines then it's impossible to enforce (or manage). The best you can hope for is applying file system security plus enable disk quotas. Then very minimal policies on Explorer and IE. The other problem with applying policies is that they don't take effect until you log off or reboot. Then the pain starts. (I don't envy you one bit) :((

That sentence alone is enough for you to lose your job.

Michael Martin Australia "I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible." - Mr.Prakash One Fine Saturday. 24/04/2004
