Happy Pi Day

I think those having steak rather than pie will be happier this evening.

How on earth could I have let that slip my mind? Must call in for steak on the way home. Regards, Stewart

Happy Pi Day to all. And, for those of us that work with the OSISoft PI (Plant Information) suite of products, it has double significance. There are currently two pies in the common area, apple and raisin/cranberry; expecting more soon. Tim
But π day isn't until 31st April! ;P Edit: Yes, I know there isn't a 31st April, but until we switch to a calendar with at least 14 months, it's the only date that fits.

31st April must not be a real time.

In the interests of accuracy, I can't help feeling we should move pi day to 22nd July, or as we write in the UK 22/7 I can't think of 14/3 as a good approximation of PI.

I had a three month contract working with that way back in 1995.

I've used it since the early '90s. Left my last job (after 13 years) to work with it exclusively; in a group with 8 other people doing the same thing. I was asked about the wisdom of leaving a position as an employee to becoming a contractor. My reply: I've dreamed of this opportunity for 20 years; I don't want to let it pass by. After 14 months, I still enjoy my job everyday.

We could have an official mini geek holiday 31st April - Pi Day 1st May - Jedi masters day (what's the point of official mayday? - I ain't catholic) Happy to lose a day from the winter calendar months.

Shouldn't that be May 4th?

Or 2013-03-14 for that matter.

*ahem* http://xkcd.com/1179/[^] tl:dr - ISO Standard Date Format = [yyyy]-[mm]-[dd] Just saying.
So how do you get π from the digits
20130314
? ;P

It was really just an observation that the debate about March 14th not being Pi Day just because of a date format was silly because few people actually use the "Official" date standard passed down to us by the fine folks at the ISO. But I think you already knew that. :-\
