The Rome Marathon. It took me 3:25:21 to complete, ranked 1215th of 10678 arrived (more than 14000 entered). It was a nice competition, with people coming from all around the world. Now I'm just waiting for my wounds heal. :-D

Congratulations! That's a pretty good place for a first time - I wouldn't get anywhere near that place or time, unless I was given 3 day, 25 hours, and 21 minutes to complete it, or (preferably) something with an engine... So, Are you going to do another one? ;)

Well done! 3:25 is a great first time. I ran my second Marathon last year in a time of 3:55 - it was Kielder Marathon in the North of England. A beautiful run around the perimeter of a lake - that just happens to be the right size for a 26 mile run. A bit hilly, but the views were stunning. You should give it a go!

Veni, Vidi, Vici! I will also state "Ventosa Viri Restabit" (This could mean 'Be Steadfast in the face of the Winter Storms', but if you remember that the V is pronounced as a W then you will see the sage advice offered for the competitors in the Roman Marathon) OK, Pedant Alert! The Rome Marathon? Surely Pheidippides was a Greek Runner? (For UKians old enough, it was done barefoot, as they had not heard of Snickers back then).
