Happy you! I have managed only 4 this year (well, since the 29th December 2012 @ 08:45), and on both those occassions it was buckling under the influence of booze during Birthday nights out! Apart from that I have absolutely no desire or want.

I smoked for 26 years and was very defensive about it. However, when I could no longer breathe deeply without coughing I thought better of it. It was not easy, although like you I had no desire or want after a few months. The best thing for me was changing the routine things - not having smoko with the boys, walking to another lunch shop instead of the regular (not an option for you at work!), out of bed shower and off to work instead of an hour in front of the News and a couple of fags and coffees, etc... The best part however is the AUD5000 per year that I now have to spend on other things[^] :-D

Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Keep trying. You are statistically more likely to give it up the more times you (seriously) try to quit. Good luck whatever you do. I am not a smoking Nazi, and you are welcome to light up in my house whenever you visit. (I will not partake however!) ;)

I am now just over 3 years since I gave up. So well done you but I hope you never overtake me.

Congratulations. It's not just your lungs that should be happy, but also your wallet. Been a tobacco free zone since 2006 and don't miss it one bit. It's a damning indictment of the world today that one of the most readily available legal recreational substances is both highly addictive and will kill you.
