Actually it is a joke. So I selected Joke from Message Type while posting it. The people on the platform were stupid enough to think that the train was actually going run up on the platform. So, they got down on the rails. The man alive was trying to commit suicide. So, hopped on to the platform from the rails. :-D

Firstly, please don't refer to me as sir because I am quite junior to you(I am only 16).

In India the anouncement for a train's arrival is made only 2 min before the incoming train. Further, I really do expect people to treat this as a joke. So, let it not be scientifically reasoned. :)

752 people were standing at a railway station. Next day it came out in the newspaper that 751 people died there at the station. So the reporters gathered to question this man alive.

Reporters: "Can you tell us exactly what had happened?"

The man: "Oh yes! It was announced that - A through train will be passing from platform no. 3. So, all the people got down on the railway tracks sparing the platform and so, the train ran over them."

Reporters: "Then, how could you escape the accident??"

The man: "I was a bit intelligent. I tried to commit suicide and lay on the platform..!"

Did the train driver have poor eyesight? Did he not see all those people in front of him? Surely some of them would have survived even only because the accumulated bone matter of a couple of hundred people would have slowed the train or possibly derailed it - perhaps even causing it to fall over to the platform area killing the potential suicide?

              - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

I guess if you are dumb enough to ride on the outside of a train, you would be dumb enough to misinterpret the announcement.

They way everyone has responded to a new joke is the reason all you normally get is reposted jokes from your own forums (and the occasional kid who thinks that female body parts are punchlines.)

To be fair,it's most likely that A) It was not very well translated or b) The joke was a bit lost in the translation also, you mean b00bs is not a punchline? I've been living a lie!

It wasn't the joke that failed but the way you tell 'em. This is the last place on the planet you want to fail. :-D

                          1. I asked you to explain it before you had answered Keith 1) I read it and still don't understand 2) I'm going to guess that you either made this "joke" up yourself or translated it badly? To summarise: most people got onto the tracks. They didn't want to die, so what they did was stupid. One person didn't get onto the tracks. He did want to die, so stayed on the platform, assuming that the train wouldn't go there. Given that he made the exact same mistake as the others (albeit with a different outcome), how is he more intelligent than they are? Could you maybe explain?

I don't know about that. I can think of a few others that might be worse. Tightrope walking across an active volcano might be a place I'd want to fail less than here*. (* - Yes, I understand that tightrope walking obscures the place-ness, but no more than the here-ness of the internet ;P )
