My company is well and truly screwed. Some of you may remember a few months back I reported here that a hedge-fund had managed to secure a large stake in our company and we had to employ a 'poison pill' in order to fight them off, well, that didn't work as reported here by El Reg[^]. So basically we all work hard to turn a company into a $1 billion + profit making company, only for a small group of ultra-rich opportunists to come in, stop us investing in our future products, strip away all our capital then walk away with their short-term gains and the Company(and our jobs) destroyed. Capatilism does truly suck sometimes.

Seems like theft to me. Shouldn't be allowed. This isn't true capitalism. True capitalism builds not destroys. (And yes, there's something called "Creative Destruction" where something new is created from the seeming destruction of the existing, but then that's building something isn't it?)

Well, clearly it was a mistake trying to develop new products to increase profits instead of increasing profits, err, I mean shareholder value by ummm... unlocking it by proactively optimizing the synergies with sales driven benchmarks with a top down goal oriented approach. Now is probably a good time to freshen up the CV...

True capitalism is about grubbing as much money as possible, it has nothing to do with 'building' unless building something makes money. The strongest advocates of modern capitalism are financial trading institutions, who build nothing, simply taking money out of the system on its way past.

A country whose government decrees what its citizens may buy or sell, or at what price they must buy or sell it, outside of basic rights protection, is not a capitalist one.
