I had a £10 Free bet left over from the Gold Cup so am 'investing' on the National. I have picked Colbert Station at £5 to win (I like Tony McCoy, he rarely lets me down) and have a £2.50 e/w on Forpadydeplasterer. No doubt a few more bets will be placed tomorrow as Michelle likes to have a couple of runners in the race. Anyone else going to be punting?

It's a horse race run over four miles with lots of fences. It's been marred over the past couple of years where a number of horses have died either collapsing through exhaustion or breaking legs and having to be shot. The course has been made 'safer' this year but until it's done and dusted and the dead are counted we won't know. It attracts every pikey around Liverpool which means the crime rate falls for a couple of hours so if you're arranging a garage clearout sale you'll make some money for yourself while the thieves are occupied elsewhere.

If there is one thing more dangerous than getting between a bear and her cubs it's getting between my wife and her chocolate.

There are heavy odds against him. Aintree will be full of pikeys called Paddy and quite a lot of them will be plasterers as well. Paddys at Aintree: 3/100 Paddys at Garage sales: 200/1

I opened an online account last year to bet on the national cos my missus had been given a tip from someone (and then he told her the name of a horse to bet on (hurrah!)). We won £12.50. Just tried to work out which company it was with and then how to log in, and it is still there. So I shall reinvest that in something with 3 legs.
